In
the earlier days of Computer Art, the first artistic forms appeared
to be abstract art. They fastly grown up to a proper type of expression
with the introduction of mathematical equations to produce images of
great visual impact. Two basic examples of this type of images are the
ones that have basic forms taken from fractais or Bezier curves.

The first digital
photographs were not initially digital, but digitalised. Effectively
it was through scanner and later through digital cameras that digital
photograph as art appeared.
In such a way that it is possible to find digitalised and reworked images
later, images made in digital support and others that, if not assuming
exclusively as photographic, have for base, of some form, the photograph.
Later evolved to one another type of register, almost next to painting.

The
video art and video performance came consecutively from experiments
conducted in celuloid during the 60's. Initially the film emerged as
a mean of recording ephemeral events (happenings, performances), which
quickly evolved as artistic expression. The digital video came to solidify
this trend, although he never broke out from its component of registration
the ephemeral. It is in this sense that the collection of UAVM presented
the digital video in two sections: video-art and video performance.

The net-art has in its origins, in one hand, the telematic art , on
the second the computer art. Based on the internet medium, networks
that link several computers to several parts of the world, it is logical
to think on the computer as the intermediary in this new kind of art.
"The main feature of the works of net-art is to explore properties
of hypermedia, and non-linearity, participation, in collaboration network,
decentralization, immersion, metamorphosis, navigation, etc.. Precisely
for that fact, we talk about the works of net-art more as a process
than as a result "(Wikipedia).
