Mrs Eaves in Pixel by

digital drawing, 2009
Mrs Eaves in Pixel is a visual perception of the typeface, Mrs Eaves. Mrs Eaves is an historical revival based on the design of Baskerville. This typeface is named after Sarah Eaves, the live-in housekeeper who became John Baskerville's wife. John Baskerville is a famous type designer that designed many famous typefaces and Baskerville is one of them. In translating this classic to today digital font technology, the type designer Zuzana Licko focused on capturing the warmth and softness of letterpress printing that often occurs due to the gain of impression and ink spread. In Mrs Eaves in Pixel, I try to translate the digital font into a visual stimulation. Using the most well known pangram: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog", Mrs Eaves in Pixel is a 'pangram' arts in which the fox and the dog play an aesthetic role to suggest a fun and humorous attitude to typography. This drawing is a suggestion for typographic/visual expression; something to look at and the focus is on the first emotional message that gets to your heart. |

Is interested in pursuing research regarding visual perception and creating works that explore thoughts and feelings using colour, structure and form. She focus in everyday life and objects, and constantly explores the possibility of using unusual ways to communicate to the masses. She began to express her emotion and thought about life through artistic expression during her stay in London. Jesvin feels that a free approach to artistic composition can bring to life even the most common subject. She describes her work as impressions of a scene "characterized by color and shape". Accuracy is less important than her sense of her subject. Reality is only a guide. Metamorphosis of the subject takes place when form, colors and contrasts are combined with flexibility.
